Saw you on MSNBC. Please see today’s post on FB page. Ann Romney did not impress me. My story has been shared by people on my page and there are some sharing it who did not leave an open post.
When I was 19 I was raped at knife point. A man assaulted me, shoved a knife under my chin and into my throat and said “If you make a sound I’ll kill you”. He was dressed all over in black . He wore a black ski mask. All I could see were his eyes and his mouth. He forced me into his car and drove me to an isolated dirt road outside of Edwardsville, Illinois. On the way to the dirt road I
saw another car coming towards us and managed to jump out of my rapist’s car. He grabbed the hem of my coat and held on. I started screaming for help to the oncoming car. They saw me and
kept going. The man pulled me back into the car, still holding my coat hem and threatening to kill me. When we got to the end of the dirt road surrounded by nothing but trees and grass, he stripped me naked from the waist down and inspected me with a flashlight to be sure I was “clean”. When he was done with me, he told me to put my clothes back on. He drove me back to Edwardsville , put me out of the car in the middle of town and said: “I’ve been watching you for a long time. I’ve done this before and I’ll do it again. I know where you live.” I got back home under my own power. When I got home I took a bath. I never reported it. I was terrified he’d do it again. I experienced brutality, fear, and despair of being being made to do something awful at the hands of a potential killer . When you read my story, put the face of your daughter, your granddaughter, your wives, nieces and women friends in the place of mine. Then yourself. The point is, for everyone who is undecided about how you feel or think about how women should be treated , or even if you are , please remember me when you go to the polls this November. There is no such thing as legitimate rape . Rape is not just another form of conception. It is a horrific act of power and aggression over a woman . Feel free to re-post or share my story with anyone. If I didn’t want it out there, I wouldn’t have posted it. Sincerely,
    Darcy
